This handbag is a beautiful mix of orange and reds in a eye catching wave pattern.
It is a sturdy cotton woven bag which stands about 27cm high (excluding handles) and 50cm long. The handles are brown leather and the bag fastens with a zip. It is fully lined in a jazzy fabric with a pocket for the cell phone, lippy and pens.
A Mielie bag represents a worthwhile cause and a business passionate about helping South Africa.
Hand crafted from recycled stretch cotton. No two bags are the same! Designed by Adri Schutz - her company mission is "to make a difference" Mielie offers a truly supportive 'community' to weavers. The Dora Tamana Preschopol is mielie's charity project. The school offers parents a safe place for their whildren while they work. There is a community-run vegetable garden on the school grounds, and children get to eat a healthy meal daily from the garden. Since its inceptopn in 2002, Mielie has grown to a group of approximately 50 people.
