In New Zealand we throw 'away' at least 6 million toothbrushes every year - amounting to approximately 200 tonnes of landfill each year.
The problem is that 'away' may mean away from where we are currently living, however, the plastic from all those toothbrushes will never really go away - not in our lifetime, nor that of our children. Now, imagine that on a global scale!
The Environmental Toothbrush is a simple solution. The handle is bamboo and the bristles are soft and made from nylon4, a biodegradable material. Consequently, they are 100% compostable, environmentally sustainable, and do not pollute the environment.
The amazing growth and self-renewing ability of bamboo means that deforestation is not necessary either. The packaging is cardboard and paper so can be recycled with your paper recycling or you can safely throw the brushes and packaging into your compost where both will decompose.
