Vehicle Efficiency
Emissions from transport account for 40% of New Zealand's greenhouse gas emissions.
There are a number of steps you can take to reduce your vehicle's contribution to greenhouse gas emissions.
- Select a vehicle that matches your tranport needs (number of passengers, cargo).
- Select the better fuel economy (litres/100km) in that range that meets your transport needs.
- Keep your tyres at the correct pressure.
- Examine your own driving habits, use of air conditioning or open windows.
- Improve the quality of fuel for better performance and reduce your overall fuel costs.
